Our Silverspring Community Soccer program is intended to foster the development of our children with and around our community. The viability of the program is strongly linked to volunteerism – those individuals that coach, assistant coach or help out with our teams. Without them, our program would cease to exist. Therefore, we would encourage each of you to help us out with our soccer program!

Please contact your Silverspring Soccer Coordinator with questions/concerns: Kyla Clarke at:

 1. Outdoor Season “On-line” registration will run until 8:00pm Friday, March 6, 2020. There will be no “In-Person” registration this season as a result of low turn-out in the past. If you prefer to make payment by cash or cheque please contact one of the soccer coordinators listed above. The On-line registration can be found HERE.

2. Included in the registration fees for u5, u7 and u9 is the fee for a Mini FOS tournament which will be held June 12-14 at Sasktel Sports Centre. Each team will get three games in the tournament. However, the team has the option to opt out.

3. There is a wrap up Jamboree for u5 and u7 which includes one game on Sunday June 21 at Sasktel Sports Centre.

4. Please note if you are registering your child/children in multiple sports we can not accommodate scheduling conflicts that may occur. Therefore, this should be a consideration when making the decision to do so. Refunds will not be given due to scheduling conflicts. Refunds will only be issued for emergency or medical reasons with a doctor’s note.

5. Volunteer coaches will have to have a criminal record check completed prior to coaching. This must be done by mid May 2020 and you will be reimbursed by our community association for the fees associated with the check. State on the form the position being applied for is “COACH”. Criminal Record Check Form. As a volunteer coach we will allow 2 children to be requested to be placed on your team. Your team’s equipment will not be handed out until your criminal record check is completed. Please note that the Criminal Check is only good for 1 year.

6. SYSI requires volunteer coaches for U7 – U9 to attend coaching certification clinics for the appropriate age group as well as completion of the online Respect In Sport (RIS) certification. Contact SYSI for more information – all coach personnel must complete this online free training prior to their first game and it takes approx. 3 hours. CLICK HERE There will also be coaching clinics offered to coaches by SYSI for each age group.

7. While special requests for a child’s placement on a team may be considered if necessary (e.g. medical reason, hardship in attendance, etc.), it cannot be guaranteed. We can grant each head coach up to 2 special requests. This is to encourage parent involvement and increase our coaching pool. Therefore, volunteer as a coach and your request will likely be granted. We would encourage volunteers to coach or manage a team. An incentive will be provided for those individuals that decide to volunteer and are committed to building sport in our community. Please remember that it is a privilege to play community soccer and not a right. SSCA Soccer is run by volunteers so if there is no volunteer coaches for your child’s team, then there is a chance your child might not be able to play soccer.

8. Late registration will be accepted only as space permits online from March 10, 2020 to April 30, 2020. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. A late registration fee of 50% of your child’s soccer fee will be charged.

9. Age groups are determined by year of birth (as indicated on the registration form), not the actual age. These groupings along with the fee structure are shown above.

10. Rules regarding age are as per SYSI guidelines; However, there is one exception. The Kindersoccer age group does not participate in game play. Therefore, if your child is not ready (skill development) for U5, you may request the child be in Kindersoccer. Please make sure when registering to enter the players correct birth date.

11. Children born in 2010 or earlier cannot play at the community soccer level, and must be registered with zone soccer. Our zone is Hollandia Soccer Please contact if you have any questions.

12. The season will begin the last week of April, 2020 and run until June 26th.

13. Days of play cannot be determined before schedules are distributed by SYSI directly to each coach. SSCA Soccer Coordinators DO NOT know each coaches schedule. Therefore, special play day requests from registrants cannot and will not be entertained. Schedules are done by SYSI, not by the SSCA Soccer Coordinators. Reminder, there are no schedule guarantees.

14. Please remember that the Coaches and Soccer Coordinators are volunteers. Please respect them as they are taking time out of their personal lives to provide a fun and educational experience for your children.

15. KidSport and Canadian Tire JumpStart funding is available.

16. Season schedule is posted on the Saskatoon Youth Soccer website April 9th at 4:30pm.

Volunteers are our greatest resource.
