Our Silverspring Community Soccer program is intended to foster the development of our children with and around our community. The viability of the program is strongly linked to volunteerism – those individuals that coach, assistant coach or help out with our teams. Without them, our program would cease to exist. Therefore, we would encourage each of you to help us out with our soccer program!

Please contact your Silverspring Soccer Coordinator with questions/concerns: Kyla Clarke at

The season will begin mid October, 2019 and will run until mid March, 2020.

ALL team personnel MUST have Respect in Sport (RiS) completed by this deadline and the RiS number needs to be supplied in the team personnel GoalLine online registration. The head coach of each team must also be NCCP certified for the appropriate age group they are coaching.

  1. Outdoor Season “On-line” registration will begin on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 8:00am and run until 8:00pm Monday, September 9, 2019.
  2. Please note if you are registering your child/children in multiple sports we can not accommodate scheduling conflicts that may occur. Therefore, this should be a consideration when making the decision to do so. Refunds will not be given due to scheduling conflicts. Refunds will only be issued for emergency or medical reasons with a doctor’s note.
  3. Volunteer coaches will have to have a criminal record check completed prior to coaching. This must be done prior to the start of the season and you will be reimbursed by our community association for the fees associated with the check. State on the form the position being applied for is “COACH”. Criminal Record Check FormAs a volunteer coach we will allow 2 children to be requested to be placed on your team. Your team’s equipment will not be handed out until your criminal record check is completed. Please note that the Criminal Check is only good for 1 year.
  4. SYSI requires volunteer coaches for U5 – U9 to attend coaching certification clinics for the appropriate age group as well as completion of Making Ethical Decisions Certification (in person clinic and online test) and the online Respect In Sport (RIS) certification. U5 coaches only need RIS certification. Contact SYSI for more information – all coach personnel must complete this online free training prior to their first game and it takes approx. 3 hours. There will also be coaching clinics offered to coaches by SYSI for each age group.
  5. While special requests for a child’s placement on a team may be considered if necessary (e.g. medical reason, hardship in attendance, etc.), it cannot be guaranteed. We can grant each head coach up to 2 special requests. This is to encourage parent involvement and increase our coaching pool. Therefore, volunteer as a coach and your request will likely be granted.  We would encourage volunteers to coach or manage a team. An incentive will be provided for those individuals that decide to volunteer and are committed to building sport in our community. Please remember that it is a privilege to play community soccer and not a right. SCA Soccer is run by volunteers so if there is no volunteer coaches for your child’s team, then there is a chance your child might not be able to play soccer.
  6. Late registration will be accepted only as space permits from September 10, 2019 to September 16, 2019. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. Contact the soccer coordinator to inquire about late registration. A late registration fee of $40 may apply.
  7. Refunds will not be issued after the teams registration deadline of September 16, 2019  with the Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. (SYSI). Refund requests must be submitted in writing (email) to the soccer coordinator. For more information please review the SCA’s refund policy.
  8. Age groups are determined by year of birth (as indicated on the registration form), not the actual age. These groupings along with the fee structure are shown above. (Note: parents choice to put in Kindersoccer or U5).
  9. Rules regarding age are as per SYSI guidelines; However, there is one exception. The Kindersoccer age group does not participate in game play. Therefore, if your child is not ready (skill development) for U5, you may request the child be in Kindersoccer. Please make sure when registering to enter the players correct birth date.
  10. Children born in 2010 or earlier cannot play at the community soccer level, and must be registered with zone soccer. Our zone is Hollandia Soccer (
  11. The season will begin mid October, 2019 and run until mid March, 2020.
  12. Days of play cannot be determined before schedules are distributed by SYSI directly to each coach. SSCA Soccer Coordinators DO NOT know each coaches schedule. Therefore, special play day requests from registrants cannot and will not be entertained. Schedules are done by SYSI, not by the SSCA Soccer Coordinators. Reminder, there are no schedule guarantees.
  13. If cost is a barrier, there is Funding through KidSport and Jump Start (deadlines are early so apply as soon as you can)
  14. Please remember that the Coaches and Soccer Coordinators are volunteers. Please respect them as they are taking time out of their personal lives to provide a fun and educational experience for your children.

Volunteers are our greatest resource.
